About Your Pastor
Rev. Eugenia Gamble, the pastor of Nipomo Community Presbyterian Church, has served as Senior Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama, and Englewood, Colorado and Director of Spiritual Development at First Presbyterian Church in San Luis Obispo.
Rev. Gamble is widely acclaimed as one of the finest speakers in church circles today, serving as keynote speaker at numerous conferences, schools and colleges, retreats and seminars. Her in-depth Biblical analysis, combined with great wit and humor, keep audiences highly involved. She has spoken at churches and events in 40 states and six foreign countries.
In addition, Rev. Gamble has authored books, Bible-study guides, and articles, including “Out of the Whirlwind,” a continuing column appearing in Horizons Magazine for 17 years. She has also served on the continuing education faculties at Princeton Theological Seminary, Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh Seminary, and San Francisco Theological Seminary.
Eugenia was born and raised in Greenville, Alabama in the home in which her father lived his entire life. She graduated with honors from Greenville High School and cum laude from the University of Alabama with a degree in creative writing. She received her M. Div. at St. Luke's School of Theology, University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee and did postgraduate work at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She has supervised seminarians and taught on the continuing education faculties of Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, Columbia Presbyterian Seminary, Pittsburgh Presbyterian Seminary, Illiff Seminary, Beeson Divinity School, and Princeton Seminary.
Eugenia is married to Rob Phillips.
They live in Arroyo Grande with their Keeshond, Abigail, the diva.
